Total Kitchen Transformation!
Here at B2End Interiors, we often provide design solutions that help make the most of an existing collection, transforming spaces with our innovative design approach.
This kitchen renovation was a totally different story!
We absolutely LOVED this opportunity to completely gut a room and start from scratch.
Changing the Space
“We changed it all…we put in new flooring, new cabinets, we even changed the shape of the room. There was so much soffitsry, it just made for a dark little hallway and really closed off the space,” said Alan, speaking of the pre-renovated kitchen, “so we got rid of it! We wanted to reveal the ceiling and enlarge the space, so we also took out the pantry and the oven wall, giving the new focal piece, a completely new island, some much needed breathing room.”
So, the B2End team removed the original island, and the whole section of the house was gutted!
Angling for a View!
“The Koski’s have such a beautiful patio and pool area, and we really wanted to showcase that, even from the kitchen,” said Stan. “We chose a new island, with an increase in length, and we installed it at an angle, to direct the view to the outdoors!”
To compliment the earthy tones found throughout the entire home, we chose green place settings with a touch of white to play off the new cabinetry.
Create Your Focal Point
Not only does the island direct our view to the outdoors, it also acts as the focal piece of the room from a design standpoint.
The furniture details of the island, with simulated shutters and intricate handles, make the island really exist as its own “piece of furniture.”
The B2End team also snuck in some hidden storage! At the feet of the barstools, we incorporated some additional kitchen storage space for keeping out the clutter!
“When visitors come to the Koski house, they often comment on the granite top of the island. It has a very unique look, and really brings in more earthy elements to the kitchen,” said Alan.
Oh So Sleek!
The island remains the statement piece by using black counters for the rest of the kitchen, coupled with an off white cabinetry that makes the kitchen feel nice and clean. It’s a real transition from the earthiness of the island.
We added to the sleekness of the room by choosing an integrated refrigerator and a hidden microwave drawer…just push a button on the microwave and the drawer opens!
The long white cabinets help balance and compliment such high ceilings, and the decorative touches above them make this kitchen feel at once both warm and glamorous!
